The mission of the library media program is to ensure that
students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished:
- by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats:
- by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using ideas and information
- by working with other educators to design learning
strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
In Addition to the Print Collection and the Electronic Resources the LMC provides:
Research Assistance - How to use search engines, searching techniques, Boolean searching
Reader's Advisory - What's good to read (our favorite question: "got any good books?")
Information Literacy Skills - How to I find stuff, is it any good, how can I use it creatively and ethically.
Hardware & Software Technical Assistance - Saving files to the network, printing from email or disk, copy/paste, etc
